London Olympic Tickets Now on Sale

Today is the day that tickets go on general sale for the London Olympic Games in 2012, 500 days before the opening ceremony.

Over 2.5 million people have already signed up for advanced notification of the tickets with a total of 8.8 million individual tickets on offer for all events at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012.

As of today, you will have just 6 weeks to register your interest for events that you wish to attend. Any events that become oversubscribed will have tickets distributed via a random ballot.

The last day to apply for Olympic tickets is 26 April 2011.

It is important to note that this is the process for applying for tickets and you will not actually be purchasing them at this stage. If you are successful in being offered tickets to some or all of your chosen events, you will have no choice but to pay the ticket price. You cannot cancel your interest.

Payment will be taken from all successful ticket applicants between Tuesday 10 May 2011 and Friday 10 June 2011. If you are lucky enough to get tickets, you will be notified of any tickets you have been allocated by 24 June 2011.
